FILAMCLUB *************************** " Hi there,I found your email addresses on your website and I wanted to reach out to you regarding a matter being debated in the Philippines. We wanted to reach out to Filipinos worldwide and let our congressmen and women know that Filipinos from the United States and around the world would be represented in the fight against the re-commissioning of the outdated Bataan Nuclear Power Plant. The currently proposed house bill will waste millions of pesos, trying to upgrade this mothballed facility and will surely take away funds from developing truly renewable sources of energy.... I wanted to ask you if there was any way you could send out our petition to the members of your organization. While most of them are no longer in the Philippines, this is an issue that has great effects on the loved ones they have left back home. I urge you to ask them to sign our petition, which will be brought to the attention of the Philippine Congress. If you would like to know more information, you can view a sample of the on-going debate on Market Manila Man's blog at: http://www.marketmanila.com/archives/commissioning-a-30-year-old-unfinished-nuclear-plant Thank you so much and have a great day! Pow Belgado Please sign the Greenpeace petition and forward this to all your friends and family.... The pushers of nuclear energy in congress want to vote on moving forward with the revival of the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) before congress closes in the first week of June, with the foolish argument that the outdated and unsafe facility can address both climate change and energy security. We need to tell the congress we don't want nuclear power! Tell Congress that you don't want nuclear power sign up and we'll make sure your message is delivered to the halls of Congress. Your voice and those of your family, friends and colleagues will count! Visit http://www.greenpeace.org.ph/bnpp and sign up now!" Thank you!!!!
